Astronomia engages in a wide variety of Astronomy events across the South East and beyond. We love to get out and observe - and to assist others to get the most out of astronomy.
One of the friendliest, and most enjoyable star parties, and definitely the most southerly! The south-west coast of the Isle of Wight benefits from extremely dark skies, which last year revealed a seemingly infinite carpet of stars.
Arrival is from the Thursday evening, with departure at any time from Sunday (accommodation must be booked for both Friday and Saturday nights). You'll need to get in quick though, as the chalets are now pretty well booked, although there are quite a few tent pitches available.
This upcoming event will be held from 11th until 15th March, at Brighstone Holiday Centre, Brighstone, Isle of Wight. More details at - www.iowstarparty.org
HantsAstro Moonfest - 21st March 2010
HantsAstro's roadshow of astronomy events continues into 2010 with more fantastic moonfests. The events are open to the public and are offered free of charge to encourage more people, young and old into this amazing hobby of ours. The plan for the events is very simple we arrive, set up our telescopes in the allocated space and the public come along for a free look through one of the telescopes and invariably ask lots of questions.
This upcoming event will be held from 7-10pm on 21st March, at The Butts Green, Alton, Hampshire. Download a poster for more details.
Kelling Heath Spring Star Party - 15th - 18th April 2010
Kelling Heath boasts two annual star parties, run by two different local societies. This is the smaller one, last year seeing around 100 pitches booked.
There'll be trade stands, as well as copious observing (weather permitting), and Kelling Heath is an excellent and very well appointed site.
This upcoming event will be held from 15th - 18th April 2010, at Kelling Heath, Weybourne, Holt, Norfolk NR25 7HW. More details at - www.starparty.org
