Our grants scheme is designed to:

  2. Provide 'New Astronomers' with the information and understanding needed to begin their own observations
  3. Develop the abilities of new astronomers and promote deeper understanding of astronomy.

Criteria

Educational grant applications will be judged against the following criteria, in order of importance:

  1. Accessibility to the public and new astronomers
  2. Ability to inspire the public, and new astronomers, to devote their time to astronomy
  3. Ability to educate the public, and new astronomers, to help them get the most out of astronomy
  4. Previous success of similar projects
  5. Previous success of projects run by the same team
  6. Level and type of promotion the project is to receive
